Thermal Innovations Corporation (TIC) has pioneered the development of ultra-violet radiation techniques in the woodworking and heat sensitive substrate markets over the last ten years. Specifically, the environmental friendliness of waterbased UV curable coatings and UV curable powder coatings have been explored.

The curing mechanism of UV light rather than heat can cure coatings in seconds, which means that traditionally long oven tunnels can be replaced with a shorter and compact system. In addition, lower temperatures translate into energy savings and opening up of many new applications.

3D UV paint line for fully assembled wooden chair and chairs components. Robots apply waterbased UV lacquer at a line speed of 16 FPM. The uique spray booth design recovers 95% of oversprayed paint. Total flash and curing time is 10 minutes.

The first UV powder line for MDF TV stand components in the world. One coat of powder 3mils thick replaces a PVC laminate and other wet coatings.
6.5 FPM line speed in 1600 square feet of floor space produces 3.8 million square feet per shift.
